DisplayPort Male to DVI-D Female Adapter (Single-Link)
DisplayPort is the newest digital display interface standard introduced by VESA. The format supports both digital video and audio.
DP++ (multimode) capability required: These adaptors allow you to continue using your existing DVI monitors on all computers equipped with DP++ (multimode) capability. The PC senses the presence of the adaptor and sends DVI signals over the DisplayPort connector rather than DisplayPort signals.
Max. Supported Resolution - 1920x1080p (250MHz)
Notes:
- This is a passive adapter. While DisplayPort connectors are capable of passing a DVI signal, DisplayPort and DVI signals are basically different and not compatible with each other. This adapter does not actively convert a DisplayPort signal into a DVI signal. In order for this adapter to function properly, your DisplayPort source must be DP++ (multimode), which is capable of producing and passing out a DVI signal through the DisplayPort jack.
- Although DisplayPort's signal is not compatible with HDMI or DVI, dual-mode ports (which are marked with DP++ logo) can use DisplayPort wires to transmit single-link HDMI and DVI signals which are then converted to higher signal levels by passive external adapters. Dual-link DVI and analog VGA are supported through powered electronic adapters which perform active conversion.
